Alice is Wonderful

I had the pleasure of seeing Alice in Wonderland in a theatre other then my own. It wasn't a pleasure to pay the extra cash, but it was nice to be away from the old town theatre for a change.
Anyway, I thought the film was..to be trite..Wonderful!
So quickly! Three reasons to see this one!
1.) Newcomer Mia Wasikowska is a delight! She was brilliant as an older Alice!
2.) Johnny Depp is always a treat when he's in a unique role.
3.) It was just fun! There were plenty of funny, whimsical scenes and the whole film is a feast for the eye.
The plot wasn't too deep, but I quickly forgave it for that. There was something about the simplicity that reminded me of old 80's fantasy films. It wasn't one of those epic fantasies that have been very popular in recent years..well Ok, there were elements of the whole epic trend, but it wasn't completely like one of those.
There were some awkward parts here and there- serious moments I guess. I felt they were kinda out of place in Wonderland.
But I left the theatre fully entertained and satisfied!
BTW: This is my second 3D film and I'm still not won over. I liked the movie- but I wasn't impressed with the 3D aspect of it. The glasses kept slipping off my nose..maybe my small nose isn't cut out for 3D films. Ha!
