Another Christmas Carol

On November 6th I will be viewing yet another silver screen version of Charles Dickens' classic novel A Christmas Carol.
In my short lifetime I've seen about 5 versions of this beloved tale. My family once read the book together and then discussed which film version was the most loyal adaptation. I put my money on the 1999 made for TV version starring Patrick Stewart as Scrooge. My brother prefers the classic Scrooge (1951) starring Alastair Sim while my mother will continually watch The Muppets Christmas Carol.
But there are countless versions of this story -from theatre to radio shows. What's so special about this new version?
Well, it stars Jim Carrey, it's CGI, and It's 3D.
Ok - so not too thrilling but I'm still looking forward to this film. Mainly because the core of all these adaptations is the story. I love this story.
So bring it on, Carrey! I doubt you can outdo Patrick Stewart but I have an open mind.
