There are many classics I haven't seen... Apollo 13 for instance..

So I'm sure this happens to a lot of people. I'm sure there are a few classic films that you've never seen. You know what I'm talking about, those movie that people talk about and you casually say, "I've never seen it." They then turn towards you and exclaim very loudly, "You haven't seen it?!"
"Did I stutter?"
Ok, sarcasm aside, I never watched Apollo 13 all the way through back in the 90s. I didn't even know all the details about the real mission so I didn't know how it was going to end. The fact that I didn't know how it was going to end made it one heck of a ride!
Sure, it was kinda schmaltzy in areas but the acting and edge-of-your-seat close calls made up for the small downfalls. As cheesy as it sounds- this film was genuinely inspirational. Inspirational in the way that it tells the true story of what humans are capable of if we stay calm and use our heads. You know, don't panic and know where your towel is kinda stuff.
I'm not an OMG-FAN of Ron Howard but I respect him. I don't believe I've ever seen a film of his that wasn't good. He didn't let down in this one. Knowing that it was made in the early 1990's had me marveling at his use of CGI. It's still pretty good!
This was a very satisfying movie. I walked away from it feeling good, entertained and inspired.
Now I must find those other film gaps in my life!
