Conspiracy Theories Can be Fun, But Still Wrong

Zeitgest is a conspiracy theorist movie that has an impressive 8.8/10 on IMDB which indicates to me some sort of internet demographic particularly enjoys the movie.
The basic premise is this: 9/11 = Christianity = propoganda and lies. Or something like that.
Unfortunately the way in which it sets out to disprove Christianity is so off target, it's not even funny. I'll refute this one point the movie tries to make and effectively demolish all the arguments in the first half hour of the movie. For the record I'm not even Christian, I don't understand Christian theology or its own interpretation of history but I saw this one fatal flaw almost instantly.
The movie claims Christianity is simply derived from other religions of past and re-adapted. To make this assertion seem believable Jesus Christ is compared to various other holy figures and see the circumstances in which they existed. Apparently the Egyptions knew what crucifiction was because the Sun God Horus was crucified and resurrected three days later. A quick check on Wikipedia does not seem to confirm what Zeitgest says, nothing about Horus being crucified but perhaps that is simply an oversight on wikipedia or maybe a conspiracy to hide the truth and silence those who are daring to speak the truth... *sigh*
But that wasn't the final nail in the coffin, the movie claims Christianity accepts Jesus Christ was born on the 25th of December which is an astrological date and connects it up with some stars, three of which are regarded as the three kings which point to where the sun rises from on the 25th of December, i.e. birth of the son. So says the film.
However this is blatantly false, now I'm not a Christian so I try not to argue Christian theology holes but I know that Christianity does not decree Jesus Christ was born on the 25th of December, that is simply when his birthday is celebrated. So why is it celebrated on the 25th?
(Please note I can't swear to every detail here as it has been a long time since I read about this). In the 14 Century AD a pope decreed that to get more followers into the religion it was ok to bend the rules of Christianity, so long as the followers were under its banner. As such many traditional pagan holidays became Christian holidays. Many, actually I think all?, Christian holidays today come from Pagan holidays. As such it makes sense for the dates to be based in and around astrologically significant dates.
Yet the movie makes no mention of this, however it makes some interesting points, the three stars, the three kings, just how much of it was intermixed with Christianity? Perhaps the influence of paganism on Christianity is understated, perhaps Pagans changed Christians more than Christians changed pagans. Unfortunately we are not treated to such an intellectual subject, the movie comes off across as a bunch of conspiracy theories decreeing Christianity as false. This isn't a movie for those who are interested in learning, it is a preaching to the choir type movie where you either agree with it blindly or find it disturbingly hilarious people actually do.
