Countdown to New Moon
November 18th 2009 04:50
Well, I can hear the screaming 14-year-olds already pitching their tents outside the local movie theater. The radio DJ won't stop talking about it. And I even got chewed out for having sold out our midnight showing.
Yup. New Moon.
Everyone's talking about it. I am actually... excited too.
Not because I'm a fan of the books ('cause they seem like they were written in a dark room with a set of glitter crayons). But because I love the excitement around big events like this. I'm working the midnight showing just so I can see the people.
In preparation of the big event I finally finished the first book (with the help of an audio book). Currently, I'm attempting to get through the second book. It has its ups and downs.
On Thursday, me and my fellow projectionist will build and watch the movie together. We argued for two weeks over who was going to get it, before we finally came to a compromise.
I hope I will be done with the book before then. If there is one thing I love, it's comparing and contrasting book to film movies.
So I gotta go. I have about four hundred pages to finish.
