Don’t Judge a Movie By its Trailer (Part 2)
August 24th 2009 06:58
In the case of G.I. Joe, I was correct. The trailer reflected the movie.
The film was predictable and generic with laughable performances. My eyes hurt from the shiny CGI that was violently thrown at me at every scene change. Why do some directors think that an action movie has to be without intelligence? They just assume the audience will be too busy being amazed at their computer graphics and multiple explosions.
With that said, I guess that sometimes you can judge a movie by its trailer. But that is just with this movie. As I said in my previous entry – I have been wrong on occasion when it comes to judging trailers.
I’m anticipating the outcome of two highly discussed trailers: New Moon and Avatar. New Moon I was not impressed with at all and Avatar held a lot of potential. I’ll see if my assumptions are correct when November and December roll around.
