Easy A is one of those movies that I meant to see in theaters and then life happened and I kept forgetting about it.
I finally got around to watching it the other day because Emma Stone kept coming up in conversation and on the internet (see Jim Carrey's confession on youtube).
This movie is easily one of the more hilarious films with a female as the lead. Emma Stone has this perfectly dry, sarcastic kind of humor that I appreciate! She's irresistible in this film! Her parents in the movie also had this delightful light-hearted humor.
Stone plays Olive, a nobody in school who suddenly becomes known to everyone when a rumor gets started that she slept with a college student. Her reputation for sleeping around soon takes off when she has 'pretend' sex with a gay friend of hers in order to help him from being bullied.
She deals with her new situation with humor and surprising ease at first, but soon she realizes that everything has gotten out hand.
The movie boils down to this line, "it's none of your damn business". When she finally sets the record straight and makes up with her best friend she ends her confession time by letting her viewers know that it's really none of their business what she does.
I hope to see more of Emma Stone! I really should see her in The Help and Crazy, Stupid, Love. And I guess you should too! Since she's fabulous!
