'Necessary' because I got what I came for. This movie was awesome and I knew it would be awesome. I knew it wouldn't be as good as the first one. I knew Robert and Gwyneth would shine. I knew that there would be plenty of little bits thrown in for comic book geeks (like myself).
I wasn't blown away like I was when I watched the first one. But I loved this movie. I want to rewatch it right now (I'll have to wait till this weekend).
And while I say "It's not as good as the first" I believe that is an unfair assessment. I believe the first film set the bar so high. We all weren't expecting it to be as good as it was. We weren't really expecting RDJ to make such a huge comeback. With that said, this movie is a great addition to the franchise.
It was a little slow in the middle, but I picked right up and delivered a great show. I can't wait for Thor, Captain America and finally The Avengers movie.
PS- I accept Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow...she was surprisingly awesome!
