Moon Review

I was really excited to watch this movie! A smart scif-fi (science fiction is kinda my thing) and the directorial debut of Duncan Jones..what's not to love!?
The plot was brilliant (although slightly predictable), Sam Rockwell was spectacular, and GERTY the local robotic buddy (voiced by Kevin Spacey) was surprisingly human- an interesting contrast to other robotic entities in past films (HAL for instance).
Unfortunately, I had the film figured out in the first few minutes. I think I went into it with the wrong attitude. I thought there was going to be this elaborate twist. When in fact the "twist" is made known early and really the movie is a great stage for Sam Rockwell's character to undergo this fascinating transformation.
Watch it for Sam Rockwell and the refreshingly straightforward directing style. I look forward to seeing more from Duncan Jones.
