The Fantastic Mr. Fox

OMG! I haven't reviewed a movie in almost a month. I have been watching movies, so I do have a backlog of opinions to throw at you but I'm afraid I'm cheating on film with my first love - television. So I must put away the DVD sets to review those dozen of movies I've recently watched. First up! The Fantastic Mr. Fox.
I looked forward to watching this movie. Claymation (Correction cause I'm an idiot!
STOP-MOTION), George Clooney being funny, Wes Anderson- what's not to love?
I remember when the trailer shows up at the theater. I was hoping we'd get it but we never did. Meaning it quickly came and went from the theaters. But I have to say it was one of those quiet gems of 2009.
The animation is breath-takingly original in speed and style. The humor had me on my toes. One minute it was slapstick and the next it was almost monty-pythonesque in randomness. Which is never a bad thing. The more random the better!
The problem I had with this one was my wandering attention. I kept getting up to refill my coffee, looking at the time or thinking about the next episode of whatever I was watching previously. I'm not too sure if it was the fault of the movie or my sudden bout of ADD but I definitely felt a little bored a couple of time during it.
ADD aside- this movie is a treat to the eye!

Your first love is television?! Shame on you!
I loved this book as a boy (I loved all Roald Dahl), but I'm not a fan of Wes Anderson's movies. However I did eventually watch this and found it entertaining if perhaps a tad dull. My fave scene was when they spotted the wolf up on the ridge near the end.
