And In The Epic Battle of Horror Films the Winner Is....

Paranormal Activity.
This weekend saw the wide release of the much discussed, much tweeted film Paranormal Activity. The buzz about this film has been immense. People have been saying that this film is this decades Blair Witch Project.
Also opening this weekend was the latest in the famous 'torture porn' franchise - Saw. Saw 6 to be exact.
I am overjoyed that the underdog won this round.
Saw 6: $18.6 million
Paranormal Activity: $22 million
I'm not a fan of horror films, but this is such a relief to the artist within me. A small, independent film showed hollywood that it isn't in the sequels- its in the originality and risks.
So despite the fact that I don't like the genre- I may just go see Paranormal Activity.
