Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Sequels

August 24th 2011 20:28
I forgot to review this one in May. I watched it the weekend it came out but it's existence just slipped my mind.

Probably because the movie is very forgettable and (dare I say it?!) boring.

On the fourth trip to the Caribbean we follow Captain Jack Sparrow as he searches for the fountain of youth. There are a few new characters, some mermaids and Captain Barbossa. That pretty much sums it up.

There was a line in the trailer when Capt. Jack says, "did everyone see that, 'cause I will not be doing it again!" My inward response to that is "I wish you would've said that at the end of the third movie.
(Watch the trailer here)

Ok, ok, maybe I'm being a bit harsh. The film feels more solid then the last two. It's doesn't have so much crap thrown in that you're lost and confused. But this one didn't have the 'fun' element. It just wasn't there!

All in all, I did like Johnny Depp. He does his thing as Sparrow and he does it well. If you want to watch Mr. Depp be the crazy but lovable pirate then this film is for your.
