After Inception I felt like I could just sit back and bask in the glow of genuine film. I completely forgot that a week later I did build and watch that movie with Angelina Jolie..
I guess the fact that I forgot about it kinda tells you how I felt about it. It's forgettable. Almost everything about the film was predictable: the plot, the dialogue, etc
However, Angelina Jolie was not. She was fantastic. I found it truly refreshing to see a female in such a male role. She did it gracefully and with the right amount of 'kick-ass'. I'm not a Jolie fan (she was great in the Changeling though) and this movie didn't convert me to her fandom, but it's hard to ignore how fabulous she was in the film.
If there was one thing that truly bugged me about this movie it was the ridiculous flashbacks. While they tried to give you some back-story to Jolie's character they only took you out of the fast paced action. They almost seemed to be from a different film.
Bottom line- Jolie was great and the spy genre elements made this movie fun but ultimately forgettable.
