Sherlock Holmes 2?
September 27th 2009 18:06
The new Sherlock Holmes, starring one of my all time favorite actors Robert Downey Jr, already has a sequel planned.
This is good news. Because this means that the first film must really be good. I liked the trailer for the new movie - it was funny and RDJ was (as always) charmingly hilarious. But there was something about the trailer that I couldn't put my finger on. Something that was a little bit off that hinted to me that this may be a stinker. Not because of RDJ or Jude Law but because of the writing.
My good friend, and long time Sherlock Holmes fan hates the trailer -saying, "that is not Sherlock Holmes". I must admit I never read the books, but I'm always open to movie interpretations.
With all of that said, I believe that the first film will indeed be good. The fact that they are already starting to write a second one means that they are confident about the first. My fears are laid to rest. Well...that is until Christmas day when the film is released.
Oh! And if you haven't heard there are all kind of rumors about Brad Pitt being the villain Moriarty. Apparently he was seen on set. I hope these rumors are true - after Inglourious Basterds I consider myself a Brad Pitt fan.
P.S.: Click on an ad or two. Thanks!
