Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

Otherwise known in my head as Oldman, Firth, Cumberbatch, Hardy.
I remember watching the trailer for this movie and flipping out over the sheer volume of british talent in it. I mean, come on - Gary Oldman and Colin Firth!? Not to mention my new favorites Benedict Cumberbatch (so much love for this man) and Tom Hardy.
I must admit that I went into it with different (and wrong) expectations. It took me a good half an hour to get into sync with the pacing of the film. I think I'll have to rewatch it with a sharper mind because it's very cerebral. The mystery that Oldman uncovers is dense and if you're spending too much time refilling your cherry coke (like me) then you may miss something.
It's a spy film but unlike any spy film that hollywood has prepped you to watch. It's slow and tantalizing. It's intelligent and realistic.
I don't believe I can emphasize Gary Oldman enough. He was at his peak in this film. Here's hoping he gets the Oscar! (fingers crossed)
And a little scene with Cumberbatch and Hardy.
